Brian Aris – David Bowie on Set of Tin Man, Dublin 1991

“Working with the great David Bowie was always a pleasure. Every time we met he would want to produce something original and generated that challenge to all of us. On the set in Dublin for the Tin Machine video “You belong in rock and roll” this image of David Bowie caused endless speculation about the bandage on his leg.
Rumour has it that it was covering a tattoo of a Japanese translation of the serenity prayer dedicated to his wife Iman.  I couldn’t possibly comment.”
