David Bowie at home, smoking in bed in his apartment on Foxgrove Road, Beckenham in July 1969, the morning after the first moon landing. Soon, the dining room became his studio and it emerged as the sleepy suburban launch pad for David Bowie’s first hit single ‘Space Oddity’.
